At Wheaton, you are the architect of your life. Through academic exploration and integrated life and career design, you’ll have the structure and guidance to connect your passions to a path that is uniquely your own. Whether you know your major or arrive undecided, you’ll achieve more than you thought possible.

Academic Excellence
Our Compass Curriculum gives you freedom to personalize your path within the structure of our 100+ academic programs.

Choices Not Checklists
With no general education requirements, you’ll dive into what interests you day one. This opens up your options to double major, add a minor or concentration, or blend your passions across the arts and sciences. You may also enrich your academics through honors pathways with unique traditions to celebrate your accomplishments.
Learn by Doing
At Wheaton, you’ll connect courses to hands-on experiences. In classes averaging 15–20 students, you’ll work directly with professors who open doors to opportunities. Many students co-author published research or collaborate on creative works with faculty mentors—experiences typically reserved for graduate programs. You’ll also have the opportunity to design, test and launch original ideas in our Innovation Spaces, or even study abroad as early as your first semester.
Life and Career Ready
Career planning isn’t a last-minute senior scramble. It’s woven into your experience all four years. Our life and career design process helps you discover your strengths, consider new possibilities and discover what’s next.

Career Exploration
Starting your first semester you’ll work with a Career Navigator in our Life and Career Design Institute. You’ll connect your interests to meaningful opportunities that bring clarity to your goals or lead you somewhere completely unexpected. Through job shadowing, internships, alumni networking and campus involvement, you’ll make informed choices about your career path.
Life Ready
The future rarely follows a straight line. Through our life and career design process, you’ll build the skills to navigate an ever-changing world, make thoughtful decisions, adapt when plans shift, and move forward with confidence and resilience. These are skills you’ll carry with you for the rest of your life.
Community
Live and learn in a community where students lead, traditions run deep, and people show up for one another. You’ll thrive in a culture where faculty and staff empower your ambitions, classmates root for your success, and alumni open doors for your future.
