1.1  Innovative curriculum

Faculty support for shared student learning outcomes for the connection and infusion program has been secured.

Wheaton's promise of a transformational liberal arts education is achieved through an innovative curriculum that emphasizes connected and infused courses.









1.2 Residence life

A campus plan and the initial steps toward implementation of residential learning communities have been completed.

Wheaton's residential environment fosters students' purposeful consideration of how their actions, values, and beliefs affect the people with whom they interact, and the communities of which they are a part.






1.3 Curricular and co-curricular experiences

A plan is in place and implementation has begun to educate students about the services in the Center for Advising and Co-Curricular Learning that enables all students to access the resources of the centers.

Wheaton's enhanced advising, experiential learning, and study abroad programs ensure that all students have access to intercultural, co-curricular learning opportunities.


Implementation of a system to document and evaluate the use of the Center for Advising and Co-Curricular Learning has begun.


Plan to enable all students access to intercultural co-curricular opportunities has been finalized.






Facilities


2.1 Science/collaborative and cross-disciplinary learning center

Construction of the CSII is underway. Plans for completion and occupancy are completed.

Wheaton's environmentally responsible and technologically advanced Center for Scientific Inquiry and Innovation, and a new residence hall designed to facilitate the campus plan for learning communities, model the Wheaton experience of an integrated, holistic, and transformational liberal arts education.


2.2 Expand library and technology services and infrastructure

Baseline FY08 library / IT requirements are prioritized and prospective initiatives selected.


2.3 Enhance quality, diversity, and capacity of student housing

An economically and programmatically feasible plan for additional residential capacity is complete.

3.1 Recruitment and retention of intellectually curious and diverse students

Wheaton has developed a new financial aid model to address shifts in the economic climate.

Diversity and inclusive excellence distinguish the Wheaton's learning experience, community, and academic culture.


3.2 Recruitment and retention of a diverse faculty and staff

Plans have been created to retain a diverse and qualified faculty and staff.






3.3 Engagement of supportive alums/friends


Wheaton alumnae/i and an expanding circle of friends engage with and support the college through their talents and resources.
