Wheaton College hosts five music performance events in December

As a part of the college’s celebration of the Year of the Arts, Wheaton College will host five musical performances in the month of December. All events are without charge and are open to the community on a first come, first served seating basis. Donations in support of the performances are welcome.   • On Thursday, December 2 at 8 p.m. in the Balfour-Hood Atrium, Los Pleneros del Coco, a 14-piece Puerto Rican music ensemble, will perform a high spirited and diverse repertoire of Latin rhythms, including salsa, calypso and jazz.
  • The Southeastern Massachusetts Wind Symphony will perform in Watson Theatre on Sunday, December 5 at 3 p.m. Earl L. Raney is the conductor.
  • The annual Wheaton Holiday Vespers program will be held Sunday, December 5 at 7:30 p.m., in Cole Chapel, conducted by Tim Harbold. Ryan Saunders ’00, will be the assistant conductor
  • The Jazz Band will perform a concert on Tuesday, December 7, at 7:30 p.m. in Watson Theatre. Rick Britto will conduct this program.
  • On Sunday, December 12 at 7:30 p.m., there will be a performance in Cole Chapel by the Chamber Music Orchestra, conducted by Jamie Fiste.
