Wheaton College Internet Connection

The college's Internet connection is provided by OSHEAN (the Ocean State Higher Education Economic Development and Administrative Network). OSHEAN is a consortium of non-profit organizations. Our Internet connection through OSHEAN allows us access to Internet1 (the standard commodity Internet) as well as the Abilene Network, the Internet2 consortium's high-performance backbone network.

Our present Internet connection allows for total bandwidth usage of 81 megabits per second (Mbps). This bandwidth is subdivided between Internet1 (36Mbps) and Internet2 (45Mbps).
