About CI2's Composers

Christopher Adkins
Christopher ("The Curtailment") enjoys composing, playing his guitar, playing Ultimate Frisbee, and acting. A native of Marietta, Georgia, he is now a junior at Birmingham-Southern College where he studies English, Music, and French. Christopher is very grateful for his family who supports him in his many endeavors.
Shane Lamb
Shane ("Bated Breath") is a junior at the Alabama School of Fine Arts; he is majoring in piano. He has studied piano for more than 12 years but his true passion has always been composition. He started composing piano pieces at the age of five, and started writing instrumental music this year. He studies composition with Dr. Charles Mason, a composition professor at Birmingham Southern College, for a year. Outside of music he enjoys ping pong, chess, hiking, reading, and playing video games (when he has time). His favorite composer is Prokofiev.
Linnea Logas
Linnea ("Zorn En-Gedi") is a 17-year old at Buffalo (MN) Senior High School who started composing at age 6, conducted her high school orchestra in a concert of her own arrangements at age 15 and completed her first symphony at age 16. In May 2003, she performed in at the State Honors Concert, sponsored by the Minnesota Music Teacher's Association, at Northrop Auditorium in Minneapolis before an audience of more than 2,000 attendees. Her first CD features piano and strings and is entitled "Red Skies, Orange Sun." Linnea enjoys playing violin, writing, art, photgraphing sunsets, and being outdoors when not composing music.
Erika Pipkin
Erika ("Taj America"); Erika Pipkin is from a musical family and has played the piano since the age of six. She is the winner of the Alys Stephens Music Scholarship for Piano at Birmingham-Southern College. Erika started college as a Piano Performance major but changed her major to Music Composition in her Junior year. She is in her senior year now. Erika is looking forward to an upcoming performance of her piece "Silence or Something Like it" for violin and cello which will be performed in Los Angeles this spring.

Bradford Sims
Brad ("The Juxtaposition of Fragmented Musical Cells") is a junior at Birmingham-Southern College; he is majoring in composition. He is from Houston, Texas. His principal instrument is voice and he also plays guitar and bass guitar. While his passion is founded in rock music, he has a growing admiration for 20th and 21st century art music.
