The London School of Economics and Political Science

Profile: The London School of Economics & Political Science (LSE) is a unique British institution specializing in studies and research in the social sciences. Among the LSE faculty are some of the world's leading experts in a range of disciplines in twenty major academic departments.

Location: Because LSE is located in central London, students also find themselves amid London's business, financial and media districts, the law courts and in proximity of Whitehall and Westminster. As one of the world's most international cities, students will encounter cultural diversity in all aspects of their daily lives. They can enjoy the offerings of the LSE Student Union, bookshops in the shadow of St. Paul's Cathedral, cultural events at the Barbican or Saturday Camden Market. A year's worth of experiences and events to last a lifetime!

Duration: Full year only. Three terms from October to June

Program dates:
Michaelmas Term 1: October 1 - December 11, 2009
Lent Term II: January 11 - March 19, 2010
Summer Term III: April 26 - July 2, 2010

Courses & credit: Students usually enroll in four year-long courses, which earn 8.0 Wheaton credits.

Admission requirements: Minimum GPA of 3.3. Five to seven foundation courses in area of study. A 3.5 GPA is required for entry into quantitative subjects (accounting, finance, economics, mathematics, etc...)

Housing & board: Students are responsible for securing their own housing and covering these expenses and meals. University of London and LSE housing is guaranteed.

Fees: Wheaton Tuition Only. Expenses covered include LSE tuition, round-trip group flight from the New York or Boston, and the ISIC card. Student Union membership and the use of athletic facilities is included under LSE fees.

Other Expenses: Students are responsible for housing and meals, transportation to group flight departures, passport and visa fees, local transportation, books and supplies, supplemental study abroad insurance, and personal expenses.
