In 1916, the Nez Perce Jackson Sundown (Waaya-Tonah-Toesits-Kahn) became the first Native horseman to become a World Champion Bronc Rider, See Indian National Finals Rodeo and Nez Perce History: Jackson Sundown.

George Flett was a brahma bull rider as a young man and contiues to ride his horses every day.
