Preparing for the Interview
KNOW YOURSELF
Because you are interacting with another human being who you do not know, there will be an element of the unknown about the actual interview experience.
By creating a foundation of information about yourself and about the position/company, you will be confident enough to handle any surprises that come up.
Self assessment: who are you and what do you want?
Know what you believe in and what is important to you. Be truthful
You will want to think of responses to five core questions that will probably be asked and will require some introspection on your part prior to the interview:
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?
What is a positive way to articulate weakness?
How did you overcome weakness?
- Why are you the best person for this position?
Be specific and truthful about the attributes that you possess that make you right for this position.
- Why will you be successful at this company?
- What motivates you?
A question of passion/what makes you come alive? Where do you want to be in
five years? Ten years?
- What is the single most important thing I should know about you?
