What We Know
In a 4-year evaluation using a number of quantitative and qualitative measures, we learned that Wheaton faculty support the value of experiential teaching and learning to:
- link experiences to course objectives
- build meaningful experiential opportunities into the course
- develop ongoing partnerships with community sites
- integrate meaningful reflection, critical thinking, and writing activities
A November 2002 survey of academic departments showed that all of our departments use experiential teaching & learning and nearly half of our courses include some form of experiential teaching & learning.
