French 356. Theater and French Society
Through the study of plays by major French playwrights of the 17th, 18th and 20th centuries, we will attempt to define how mentalities and the political and social environment of these periods helped shape theatrical masterpieces by Corneille, Racine, Molicre, Marivaux and Giraudoux. This course is part of connection 20087 (Culture, Society, and Politics in Early Modern France).
