WORCESTER, MA- The Wheaton College women's tennis team continued its strong start to the fall with a convincing 9-0 victory Saturday afternoon at Clark University in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) opener for both teams. The Lyons saw their record improve to 4-0 for the second straight year, while the Cougars slip to 0-2.

Through four matches, Wheaton has posted a nearly unblemished 23-1 singles mark and a perfect 12-0 doubles standing. In doubles action this afternoon, freshmen Sarah Geocaris (Newport Beach, CA/Sage Hill School) and Catherine Teague (Manchester, NH/Central) had little difficulty during their 8-1 final in the top slot.

Geocaris and Teague continued their impressive play into the singles portion of the match, with Teague blanking her opponent in the top position and Geocaris allowing just two games in the second slot.
