Men's tennis extends winning streak to five with sweep against BabsonApril 11, 2007 NORTON, MA- The Wheaton College men's tennis team extended its winning streak to five straight matches while remaining unbeaten in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC), as the Lyons blanked visiting Babson College, 9-0 in Beard Field House on Wednesday. Collecting its fourth win via a sweep while outscoring the opposition 41-4 during its win streak, Wheaton is now 8-2 and 3-0. The Beavers fell to 3-15 and 1-2. Seniors Brad Dressler (Cranston, RI/Cranston West) and Payum Payman (Pleasant Valley, NY/Arlington) produced Wheaton's top doubles showing, as the tandem won 8-1 in the first slot. The Blue and White's remaining doubles pairs recorded 8-4 victories, as seniors Brian Danishevsky (Hamden, CT/Hamden Hall Country Day School) and Raymour Radhakrishnan (Amherst, NH/Bridgton Academy) sided at number two, and senior Will Stoddard (Huntington, VT/Mount Mansfield Union) and freshman James Little (Mount Desert, ME/Mount Desert Island) joined forces in the third position. Stoddard led the way in singles play after not allowing a point in the fourth spot, while Payman posted a 6-2, 6-0 triumph over freshman Alex Kamergorodsky (Millis, MA/Needham). Danishevsky, Dressler and Radhakrishnan each allowed three points during their straight-set wins at two, three and five, respectively. Freshman Kyle Hudgins (Uxbridge, MA/Uxbridge) completed the sweep with a 6-2, 6-3 decision at number six.
