Men's tennis drops decision to tough Rhodes team on spring trip

HILTON HEAD, SC- Senior Brad Dressler (Cranston, RI/Cranston West) notched a third singles victory for the Wheaton College men's tennis team's lone point during an 8-1 loss to Rhodes College of Tennessee on Monday. The Lyons are now 1-1, while Rhodes is 6-1.

Wheaton tallied four total points during a trio of doubles losses before Dressler corralled a 6-2, 6-2 triumph in singles. Senior Brian Danishevsky (Hamden, CT/Hamden Hall Country Day School) battled to a three-set loss at number two with senior Daniel Hammond (Chattanooga, TN), falling by a 7-6, 1-6, 7-10 count. In the top spot, senior Payum Payman (Pleasant Valley, NY/Arlington) dropped the first set before battling to a 7-6 loss in the second during a tie-breaker.

The Lyons continue their spring break trip tomorrow against Hobart College of New York at 12:00 p.m.
