Men's tennis remains perfect in NEWMAC with 7-0 win at BabsonApril 12, 2006 BABSON PARK, MA- The Wheaton College men's tennis team won for the fourth time in five matches, with each win coming via a shutout, as the Lyons remained perfect in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) thanks to a 7-0 victory at Babson College on Wednesday. Wheaton is now 8-3 overall and 3-0 in the conference, while the Beavers fell to 5-14 and 0-3. Five Lyons picked up straight-set wins in singles, as sophomore Sean Daly (Miami, FL/La Salle), juniors Brian Danishevsky (Hamden, CT/Hamden Hall Country Day School) and Brad Dressler (Cranston, RI/Cranston West), and seniors Nick Potter (Concord, NH/Concord) and Mike Moss (Needham, MA/Needham) won at the second through sixth positions, respectively. In the top spot, junior Payum Payman (Pleasant Valley, NY/Arlington) split the opening two sets with Babson sophomore Jeremy Stein (Beachwood, OH/Beachwood) before winning the super tiebreaker, 10-4 and improving to 16-2 on the season. Wheaton won all three doubles matches, as Daly and Payman faced the toughest test but finished with an 8-5 victory over Stein and sophomore Jason Lynn (Andover, MA/Andover) at number one. Danishevsky and Dressler notched an 8-1 win at the second spot, while Potter and senior Matt Sheers (Beacon, NY/Beacon) won by an 8-1 count in the third position.
