Lyons get back to winning ways with 6-1 victory against HobartMarch 14, 2006 HILTON HEAD, SC- Senior captain Nick Potter (Concord, NH/Concord) and junior captain Payum Payman (Pleasant Valley, NY/Arlington) remained unbeaten in singles play at Hilton Head, South Carolina, leading the Wheaton College men's tennis team to a 6-1 victory over Hobart College Tuesday afternoon. Wheaton improved to 2-1 on the young season, while the Statesmen fell to 2-5. Payman and Potter, who teamed up for the first time and won 8-6 at first doubles, also collected straight-set victories in the first and fifth singles positions, respectively. Sophomore Sean Daly (Miami, FL/La Salle) won 6-2, 6-2 at second singles, junior Brian Danishevsky (Hamden, CT/Hamden Hall Country Day) was victorious 6-1, 6-2 in the third slot and classmate Brad Dressler (Cranston, RI/Cranston West) accounted for Wheaton's fifth singles win with a 6-2, 6-3 final at number four. The Lyons swept their doubles play, with Danishevsky and Dressler picking up their first wins in the second spot, 8-2. Raymour Radhakrishnan (Amherst, NH/Bridgton Academy) and Will Stoddard (Huntington, VT/Mount Mansfield Union) were paired together for the first time this season, as the junior tandem won 8-3 at third doubles. Wheaton concludes its four-match southern swing tomorrow afternoon against Southwestern University. The Lyons' match with the Texas school is scheduled for a 12:00 p.m. start.
