Lyons return to Keuka for second straight day, finish third at tri-meetFebruary 17, 2008 KEUKA PARK, NY- The Wheaton College synchronized swimming team made its second appearance at Keuka College's Ayers Pool in as many days on Sunday, this time placing third during a tri-meet with the hosts and The Ohio State University. The Lyons finished the routine-only event with 48 points, trailing Ohio State's 86 points and Keuka's 72. The three teams, alongside Canisius College, competed at the Keuka Invitational on Saturday, won by Canisius. After taking fourth in the team competition less than 24 hours earlier, Wheaton edged rival Keuka by 0.750 points to finish second overall. The Blue and White squad consisted of senior Megan Kinney (Los Angeles, CA/Marlborough School), junior Sylvia Syracuse (Tonawanda, NY/Kenmore West), sophomores Laura Montes (San Juan, PR/Academia San Jose) and Jenna Swinkin (Hamden, CT/Hamden), and freshmen Jenna Calvino (Merrimack, NH/Merrimack) and Sonvje Ryen (Bozeman, MT/Manhattan Christian). Swinkin and Syracuse turned in a runner-up showing in duet, while Montes, Ryen and Swinkin came in fourth during the trio routine. Montes also placed fifth in the solo competition, finishing just 0.750 points out of third. Wheaton hosts Canisius on Saturday in its final home meet of the season.
