Pratt becomes first women's swimming and diving academic all-district honoree in program historyMay 27, 2008
As the most decorated athlete in program history, Pratt was among 20 honorees, as 10 apiece landed on the first and second squads. She was one of five representatives from the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC). Pratt owns four individual school records, including three from this season, while helping four relay teams eclipse program standards during the 2007-08 campaign. She earned all-conference finishes this past winter in four events, requiring a top-two placement at the NEWMAC meet, to match the school record she set as a junior. Pratt graduated with 10 career all-league finishes, the most in Wheaton annals. The co-captain also landed on the NEWMAC Academic All-Conference squad for the third straight year. Pratt pushed Wheaton to a 15-4 dual mark, as the Lyons set a program record for dual wins for the fourth consecutive season and turned in a third-place showing at the league championship, the best finish in program history. Pratt, who became the first athlete in program history to qualify for the NCAA Championship, doing so in 2007, was a Dean's List honoree and Wheaton Scholar-Athlete while working toward a degree in studio art. She also minored in art history and earned a 3.78 cumulative grade-point average through the fall semester. The District I College Division consists of all non-NCAA Division I colleges and universities in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont, and the Canadian provinces of New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Quebec. To be nominated for the Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in academic standing, possess at least a 3.20 cumulative grade-point average and be a starter or significant reserve.
