The Wheaton College Equestrian Team is a competitive club team within the Region I, Zone 3 of the IHSA (Intercollegiate Horse Show Association). The team competes against varsity and club teams from area colleges such as Stonehill College, Boston College, Boston University, Tufts University and Brandeis University. The season is in session in both the fall and spring semesters with the culmination being Regional, Zone and National finals at the end of each spring.

Each year the Wheaton team hosts one horse show at Phoenix Rising Horse Farm in Smithfield, Road Island. Phoenix Rising is also where the team meets to practice each week. Currently the team consists of roughly 20 members of varying abilities. Whether it is the first time on a horse or the 10th year showing in the A circuit, all levels of riders are encouraged to join.
The team is coached by Amanda Hare. Amanda has led the Equestrian Team to top finishes in Wheaton History over the last 4 years. The team finished in a tie for 3rd place in the zone in 2005-06, leaving them one point shy of qualifying for National competition as a team. In 2006-07, Meaghan Smith '09 competed in the IHSA National Finals as the representative of Zone 1 Novice Flat riders.
