Ten event wins propel tracksters at Bulldog InvitationalApril 7, 2007 SMITHFIELD, RI- The Wheaton College men's and women's outdoor track and field teams corralled 10 event victories on Saturday as they returned from a three-week layoff at the non-scoring Bulldog Invitational at Bryant University's track complex. Senior All-American Jennifer Harlow (East Bridgewater, MA/East Bridgewater) posted two of the women's eight wins, as she provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championship in the high jump and narrowly missed a national meet time in the 100-meter hurdles. Harlow's height of 5' 5 3/4" won by five-and-a-half inches, and she captured the 100M hurdles in a time of 15.13, which was 0.13 ticks off a provisional time. Junior Joell Whitley (Magnolia, NJ/Triton Regional) won a pair of field events, besting the long jump field and the triple jump competitors. The Lyons' 4x400-meter relay quartet was victorious, as sophomores Lily Calderwood (Harvard, MA/Bromfield School), Celeste Karpow (Wilton, CT/Wilton) and Christine Moreau (Lincoln, RI/Lincoln) joined freshman Katie Pratt (Litchfield, CT/Litchfield). Calderwood also won the 1,500-meter run, beating the runner up by 0.08 seconds. Lyons took the top three spots in the 400-meter hurdles, as sophomore Chizoba Ezeigwe (Brockton, MA/Thayer Academy) won, Karpow was second and Moreau placed third. Sophomores Amanda Rawson (Dudley, MA/Shepherd Hill Regional) and Lauren Reddy (Walnut Creek, CA/Carondelet) went one-two in the 3,000-meter run, respectively. Senior Katelyn Gannon (Shrewsbury, MA/Shrewsbury) tied for the top height in the pole vault while finishing second, and sophomore Morgan Jamiel (Warwick, RI/Toll Gate) turned in a runner-up showing in the 200M. On the men's side, freshman Merzudin Ibric (Revere, MA/Phillips Academy) won the 400-meter dash in a time of 50.05, and classmate Howard Powell (Brooklyn, NY/Boys and Girls) took first during the 110-meter hurdles in 15.32. Sophomore Albi Skenderi (Glendale, NY/Grover Cleveland) came in third. During the 400-meter hurdles, sophomore Jonathan Cunha (Lexington, MA/Lexington) was second, Powell took third, sophomore Michael Wright (Baldwin, NY/Uniondale) captured fifth, and Skenderi's sixth-place showing rounded out Wheaton's finishers. Junior Pat Benson (Foxboro, MA/Bishop Feehan) turned in a pair of top-five showings, placing third in the 800-meter run and fifth during the 1,500M. During the long jump, sophomore Kyle Greenidge (Dorchester, MA/Newton North) was fourth overall and third among collegians.
