Harlow grabs first ECAC outdoor track honor, fourth of academic year

March 21, 2007

NORTON, MA- Wheaton College women's outdoor track and field standout Jennifer Harlow (East Bridgewater, MA/East Bridgewater) was named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Field Athlete of the Week for the week ending on Sunday, March 18. It was the fourth ECAC accolade bestowed upon Harlow this academic year, as she nabbed three indoor honors thanks to her various track and field accomplishments.

A week after defending her national high jump crown at the indoor NCAA Championship, the senior opened the outdoor campaign by provisionally qualifying for the NCAA meet with a jump of 5' 5 3/4" at the Carolina Classic in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Saturday. Harlow placed second in the event only to the 2006 U23 South American high jump champion. The indoor and outdoor All-American also finished fourth in the 100-meter hurdles, as her time of 15.40 beat out four Division I runners.

Wheaton has this weekend off before both the men's and women's teams return to action on Saturday, March 31 for the Hillside Relay at Tufts University.
