Track teams finish competition at two-day NCAA Championship, Ezeigwe records third straight All-America performance in 400M dashMarch 15, 2008 ADA, OH- The Wheaton College men's and women's indoor track and field teams finished up their competition at the two-day NCAA Division III Championship on Saturday at Ohio Northern University's Sports Center. The women tied for 25th with eight points, while the men finished in a tie for 61st with one point. Junior Chizoba Ezeigwe (Brockton, MA/Thayer Academy) recorded her third straight All-America performance in the 400-meter dash, becoming the first Lyon to do so since Amber James '04 notched four consecutive national titles from 2001-04. Ezeigwe took seventh overall in 57.77, as her finish combined with freshman Erin Neville's (North Providence, RI/La Salle Academy) third-place result in yesterday's high jump produced Wheaton's weekend point total. The Lyons' 4x400-meter relay team also ran today, as Ezeigwe, juniors Natana Jules (Brooklyn, NY/Boys and Girls) and Celeste Karpow (Wilton, CT/Wilton), and sophomore Kelly Libert (New Haven, CT/James Hillhouse) placed ninth in 4:00.97. Sophomore Howard Powell (Brooklyn, NY/Boys and Girls) led the men with his first indoor All-America showing in the 55-meter hurdles, taking eighth in 7.99. Freshman Marcus Kohlman (Milton, MA/Milton) missed being an All-American in the high jump during his first national title meet. He cleared the bar at 6' 4 3/4" to finish ninth.
