Lyons drop NEWMAC road contest to WellesleyOctober 5, 2005 WELLESLEY, MA- Sophomore Lyndsie Ryalls (Branford, CT/Branford) gave the Wheaton College field hockey team a 1-0 lead before Wellesley College responded with the final five goals of the game in the Lyons' 5-1 loss in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action Wednesday. Wheaton fell to 3-8 overall and 0-3 in the NEWMAC while the Blue improved to 7-3 and 2-1. Ryalls netted her fifth goal of the season unassisted less than nine minutes into the game, and the Lyons maintained the 1-0 lead until late in the half. With 5:01 remaining until intermission, Wellesley junior Beth Kelley (Lynnfield, MA/Lynnfield) tallied the equalizer before classmate Lydia Parzych (Auburn, MA/Auburn) netted the game-winner 74 seconds later. Wellesley fired home three insurance goals during a 6:49 span of the second half, as senior Lindsey Holiday (Wellesley, MA/Wellesley) scored the first two before classmate Karyn Benson (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) capped the scoring at 22:23. Senior keeper Emily Fiskio (Branford, CT/Branford) turned aside 16 shots during the game for Wheaton, becoming the third Lyon in program history with 600 career saves, while junior Shea Clarke (Bellingham, MA/Bellingham) notched a defensive save in the first half. Freshman Emily Hewitt (Alexandria, VA/Saint Stephen's & Saint Agnes School) made four stops as the Blue held advantages of 47-10 in shots and 16-2 in penalty corners.
