The Intersections series reflects the new Wheaton Curriculum and its emphasis on faculty-student collaboration, connections across disciplines, and links between classroom learning and the wider world. President Dale Rogers Marshall will present welcoming remarks at each seminar during her farewell visits to major cities across the country. Join us for Intersections 2004, and share in a Wheaton learning adventure in your own backyard. Intersections seminars are coming this winter to a major city near you. Online registration for alums is now available. Or, call 508-286-3526. If you are a prospective student call 800-394-6003. Featured art, above: Sectional Chart, acrylic, mixed media on canvas, 78x60 inches, 2003, by Patty Stone, assistant professor of art. The painting is one of a series from an exhibition entitled Aerial Mappings, inspired by Professor Stone's love of the topography of the Southwest, her father's passion for flying and the aerial maps saved from his experience as a bomber pilot during World War II. The paintings evoke the vast perspectives of the desert and of the pilot as well as the geometry of borders that humans superimpose on the landscape and in the imagination.
