Wheaton is determined to reduce unnecessary use of resources such as paper, postage and fossil fuels used in transporting direct mail. That's why the college Annual Fund is going green - and you can help. This year, we encourage you to start giving green. How? Simply visit www.wheatoncollege.edu/giving to make your annual gift or pledge today. Your online giving now will mean a lot less direct mail from the Annual Fund all year. And that will conserve precious resources, for our students, our children and our planet. The "Give Green" Annual Fund campaign was launched as a complement to a host of environmental conservation and sustainability initiatives underway at Wheaton. This summer, Wheaton entered into a partnership with Siemens Corporation to improve energy efficiency in four buildings -- Everett, Knapton and Park halls and the library. The current agreement includes the installation of high-efficiency lighting in the library along with sensors to automatically control lighting. At the same time, the college identified sustainability as a critical objective in its plans for developing a new science facility, the Center for Scientific Inquiry and Innovation. Wheaton faculty and administrators are working with the firm Einhorn Yaffee Prescott to integrate environmental conservation measures into the plans for the new facility.
