Join Dean of Students Sue Alexander in her final year at Wheaton (after more than 20 years of service!) as she moderates a panel of students who have returned from a wide variety of experiences around the world. Panelists include: Hui Gen Chen '08, Elizabeth McKay '08, Ryan Patch '08 and Jasmine Bhatia '08.

12:30 p.m.- 1:45 p.m. ALC Volunteer Luncheon and Keynote Address
Spero, a nonprofit organization founded in 2005 by a group of nine Wheaton friends, is dedicated to helping the young people of New England. To date, Spero has raised more than $25,000 for children's charities where its donations can make a difference. Wheaton alums Scott Liston '04, Zak Putnam '04, Evan Carbotti '04 and Chris Milligan '04 will share their story with ALC delegates over lunch.

ALC offers programs to enhance professional and personal development and provide the skills needed to be an effective volunteer leader for Wheaton and in your community. Volunteers are expected to participate in two of the following four sessions:
2 - 3:15 p.m. Event Planning 101
Organizing an event for your class or regional club takes some effort and planning, but it's not rocket science! A little creativity and organization can go a long way, as you will learn in this session designed for both the novice and experienced event planner.

2 - 3:15 p.m. Redefining Women's Philanthropy - Rich Conversations with Women about Women
Join a conversation of Wheaton women across the decades, including Roxanna Booth Cistulli '90, who will discuss the role of philanthropy in their lives. This conversation will be moderated by Interim Director of Development Marjorie Houston who will share the results of her own extensive research on this topic.

3:30 - 5 p.m. Everybody's Talking about Networking: How Can You Make Facebook, LinkedIn and OnLyon Work for You?
Four Wheaton alums who have successfully used these resources and others to their professional advantage will offer do's, don'ts and tips to help you get and stay connected. This discussion will be moderated by Jessica Bruce '87, Vice President of Human Resources for the Associated Press and Wheaton Alumna Trustee.

Janet Tiebout Hanson '74, P'11, entrepreneur, author and philanthropist, will share her story and speak with us about the importance of relationships and using every opportunity to leverage our own connections and networks to effect change for ourselves and the global community. Janet is the founder of a network, 85Broads, that today connects and empowers a dynamic and diverse community of over 17,000 members around the world.
