Make your gift to Wheaton by Dec. 31

Your gift to Wheaton is tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. To ensure that your gift is properly credited and meets IRS guidelines, please note the following:

Checks
Checks must be dated and postmarked by December 31, 2002. Gifts should be addressed to:

Securities
If you have held appreciated securities (stocks, bonds and mutual funds) for at least one year and a day, you can avoid capital gains taxes by transferring ownership to Wheaton.

Please remember that using securities to make such a gift can take up to two weeks to complete, so plan ahead. If you are making an electronic transfer, your shares must be received into the Wheaton account by Dec. 31, 2002. Certificates sent by mail must be postmarked by Dec.r 31, 2002. To obtain complete transfer instructions, please call the Office of Finance and Operations at 508-286-8208.


Credit cards
While the college will be closed from Dec. 23 to Jan. 1 in observance of the holidays, you will be able to call in your credit card (MasterCard or VISA) gift by using our toll-free number at 1-800-896-3145 (option 2), on Friday, Dec. 27 and on Tuesday, Dec. 31 until noon.


Secure, online giving
And, finally, you can also make a credit card gift on our secure Web site. These gifts must be received by noon on Dec. 31, 2002 in order to guarantee end-of-year tax credit.
