Transportation
Wheaton is ideally situated in a safe town between two major cities in the northeast: Boston and Providence.
There are many ways to take advantage of the exciting cultural and social opportunities that the region has to offer via public transportation.
All Wheaton students may travel for free on the Greater Attleboro Taunton Regional Transit Authority (GATRA) by showing their Wheaton ID card. The GATRA bus picks up students on Wheaton's campus and drives them to the commuter rail station where there is frequent service into Boston and Providence. In addition, the GATRA bus brings students to and from local shopping areas.
Students may travel to or from nearby Foxfield Plaza (a short taxi ride from Wheaton's campus) to downtown Boston, Boston's Logan international Airport, downtown Providence and Providence's TF Green Airport on the Peter Pan Bus.
Students may have cars at Wheaton, but parking for first-year students is extremely limited and must be approved by the College. It is best to expect that parking will not be available until second/sophomore year. Many upperclass students have cars, so it is likely that you will know someone with whom you may share rides when you wish to go off-campus.
