Accomplishments FY2001
Communications Committee
- Revised the newsletter.
- Trips continued to be popular; Deerfield Foliage, Nuncrackers, RedSox, Ellis Island
Employment Environment Committee
- The creation of a catastrophic sick leave policy that would provide special sick leave to those benefit-eligible members of the staff with five or more years of service. The policy is effective July 1, 2001 on a one-year trial basis.
- „Value Meals‰ were developed in response to staff concerns about cost and variety of meal options during the summer.
- Departments offered open houses to invite staff from across campus to visit and learn more about the work of the department.
- Addressed the issue of „pets on campus‰ by providing clarity to the existing policy within the staff handbook.
Nominations and Elections
- A "How to" procedural document on elections and appointments was developed to assist individuals when elected to the committee.
- Nomination forms and ballots were revised to simplify the voting process.
- Hosted an information session about staff council and its standing committees.
Other Accomplishments
- "Perks at Work" is an on-going item to be included in the newsletter to raise awareness about unique benefits for employees.
- Affiliation with Brockton Credit Union.
