Departmental Assistant
Duties:
The History Department Assistant will perform administrative and clerical work, such as collecting mail, returning library books, filing documents and folders, ordering supplies, maintaining correspondence, organizing publicity materials, and other tasks for members of the department.
Experience/Skills Required:
No experience required. Must be reliable. Federal work-study students are encouraged to apply.

Research Assistant
Duties and Responsibilities:
History Department Research Assistants will work with faculty members on scholarly research projects. Assistance may include administrative and clerical work, but will also include research work using online databases, periodicals, inter-library loan services, and other data collection. Applicants must be extremely detail oriented and persistent; be able to problem-solve without direct supervision, and have a reasonable familiarity with primary source research and the conventions of scholarly citation. History majors strongly preferred, but not required.
