Writing Honors theses

Writing an honors thesis requires planning and pluck. But you're not alone.

The Writing Program faculty, Library and Information staff, and Dean Alex Trayford offer a series of workshops which, along with your adviser, will guide you through the process of planning, researching, drafting, rethinking and writing an honor's thesis. Once you've registered for your "500"- level course, you'll be included in a mailing list describing the workshops and providing a schedule for them.

Workshops include meeting with alumna/e who have written honors theses; research principles; bibliographic management software; and editing strategies. Contact Dean Trayford atrayfor@wheatonma.edu for additional information.

We also encourage you to meet with one of our Writing Associates to review portions of your draft as you work your way through the process. Connie Campana (ccampana@wheatonma.edu), Ruth Foley (foley_ruth@wheatonma.edu) and Sherry Mason (mason_sherry@wheatonma.edu) all teach courses in writing and are available to help you with your thesis.

Announcement: Professors Campana and Lebduska will offer an editing workshop in the library's Woolley Electronic Classroom on Wednesday, April 30 at 3:00. We'll provide the pizza; you provide a few pages in need of editing!
