Here's a handy checklist to use as you pack for life at Wheaton.

Fan (ceiling fans and air conditioners are not permitted)
Throw rug (up to an 8x10 will fit most rooms)
Clothing for all seasons
Small sewing kit
Cleaning supplies: paper towel, all purpose cleaner, etc.
Plates, mugs, cups, utensils (for personal use)
Posters, pictures and other things to personalize your room
TV/DVD
Small refrigerator (up to 3 cubic ft.)

THINGS YOU WON'T NEED AT WHEATON
The following items are not permitted in Wheaton's residence halls:
- Pets (except fish)
- Microwaves, Hot plates, heating coils, electric pans, space heaters, broilers, griddles, toasters, toaster ovens and other open-coil cooking appliances.
- Incense, incense burners, candles, halogen lamps and other open flame items: prohibited by fire safety policies.
- Firearms and other dangerous weapons
- Room air conditioners, because they cause power surges that affect the entire residential community.
