Infrared Microscope

A FT-IR Microscope for Trace Component Analysis of Paint to Rocks and Food to Microbes

Laura Muller (Chemistry) receives grant from the Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation.

ABSTRACT: Wheaton College, Norton, Massachusetts, proposes the purchase of an FT-IR microscope for laboratory activities which will greatly enhance students' understanding of the methods available for analysis of trace components in a variety of materials. Wheaton students will not only be able to interact with the smallest of materials and gain the broadest appreciation for their complexity, but will also learn to form bridges between scientific disciplines.
