Of scholars and struggles

At the end of every academic year, Wheaton College proudly announces the number of students who win elite national scholarships. During the 2003-2004 academic year, about a dozen Wheaton students entered the competition for scholarships, and six of them won a total of seven awards. Those who applied allowed the Quarterly to shadow them through the process. As it turns out, they're all winners. (more)

Building the enlightened scientist

How important is science literacy in the 21st century, and how do we achieve it? Wheaton's faculty wants all students to learn how an understanding of science informs every discipline of study, and how every discipline of study informs science. (more)
