SIGNAGE/LIGHTING/MAP/SAFETY
New, visible signs are needed in all lots which clearly state who can park there, and at what hours.
The college websites should note that signs on Rte. 123 will direct people to parking for major evens and visiting days. Currently the website directs visitors to G lot.
Any designated spaces within lots (car pools, resident faculty/staff, handicapped) need to be clearly signed and require a permit to be visible on the vehicle dashboard.
Maps (lighted or placed near existing lights) of campus parking lots should be placed in all lots so people can find other alternatives if a particular lot is filled.
A printed map of parking lots, which indicates who can park in each one, should be distributed with permits and made easily available on campus.
Better signage for Lot P is needed, on Fillmore Drive as well as Pine Street.
Additional lighting is needed on the path from P lot to campus and from G lot near crosswalks.
Crosswalks from G lot on Route 123 need to be moved and repainted. Visible markers are needed on Route 123 to make cars stop at crosswalks.
Publicize the presence of cameras and emergency phones for escort calls to Public Safety in G and P lots so students are aware of these safety systems.
Public Safety/Physical Plant to conduct a safety survey of all paths from parking lots and the lots themselves to determine the need for additional lighting and call boxes.
