How to enter hometown news information
Each year, the Communications Office prepares hundreds of press releases for students' local newspapers announcing student achievements and activities, ranging from first-year students' enrollment at Wheaton to seniors' graduation, as well as a host of accomplishments in between.
In order to process these news releases, Wheaton maintains a database with the name and address of each student's local newspaper as well as parents' names.
Start spreading the news
As of September 2003 we have been collecting newspaper information online. All Wheaton students were asked to enter their hometown news information before Friday, January 30, to be eligible for this winter's dean's list release mailing. Per federal law, parents cannot authorize the release of this information to us; it must be released by the student.
If your son or daughter missed the deadline for this winter's mailing, please encourage them to enter or confirm their local newspaper information using the electronic form provided on WINDOW (Wheaton Information Delivered Over the Web) to be a part of future dean's list press releases.
If your son or daughter does not wish to receive any publicity, please remind them to check "I decline" under the "Decline Publicity" option.
