Open Discussion of Wheaton's LGBTA Queer History Project

We will also discuss the College's own process of coming out in full support of our community well before most colleges and universities were willing to acknowledge the diverse needs of a queer community.

The world's first openly gay Orthodox Rabbi, Steve Greenberg, will lead a participatory text study, looking at what the Torah and other Biblical texts say about homosexuality and discussing different interpretations and viewpoints.

Rabbi Steve Greenberg will give a presentation on his experience as an openly gay Orthodox Rabbi and touch on issues of faith and identity that is relevant and important to us all. The presentation will also include video clips around personal stories of Hasidic and Orthodox Jews who are gay or lesbian. Have a chance to ask any questions then join us for a reception to meet the Rabbi, chat, and eat.
