Digital Image Access

There are two tools available for accessing digital images at Wheaton. Using ARTstor, faculty may create slide shows of images for class presentations and online student study using both the images provided by ARTstor, and by uploading their own images. Wheaton's collection of digital images, formerly in ISIS, are now accessible through MDID. Students should recieve access instructions and passwords from their course instructor.

Any member of the Wheaton community may also use ARTstor to search, view, and use ARTstor's large collection of images in their academic work.
Connect to ARTstorConnect to MDID
ARTstor is an image database of over 300,000 diverse images from universities, museums, and other image collections. Any member of the Wheaton community is welcome to access ARTstor and browse and view images as a guest, or create a free account to use added features like storing and organizing groups of images, and using the presentation tool. Faculty may now upload personal images, or images downloaded from MDID, into ARTstor to augment the provided content.MDID stands for Madison Digital Image Database. Images from Wheaton's slide collection, formerly available in ISIS, are now accessible through MDID. Faculty may download images from MDID to upload to ARTstor and use in presentations and ARTstor groups.
NEWS:
  • Now only ONE password is required for students access to register for a shared image folder. Course folders created with the former method of access code + password now have one long password formed by combining the access code and password.
