Library and Information Services (LIS) recommends Apple and Dell computers based upon their performance with our network. You are certainly not restricted to these vendors. You are, however, required to meet the minimum standards for your computer to be compatible with our network.
* To purchase an Apple Computer, you may call 1-800-780-5009. You may also use Wheaton's customized page on Apple's site then click on items of interest. To view Wheaton's "recommended systems", click on the right hand side of the page. When you purchase any item from this site, Apple donates a percentage of your purchase to Wheaton's on-going technology needs.
* To purchase the Dell recommended notebook, you may call 1-866-257-4711. You may also use Wheaton's customized page on Dell's site. You may then select from the special offers or receive a 12% discount on Dell's full inventory.
* When purchasing a computer, you can have it shipped to your home address or have it shipped to your Wheaton mail box number prior to your arrival.
You may contact Technology Support (508-286-3900) for any guidance you may need. Questions regarding loans and/or financing must be directed to the vendor.
Apple has a student loan program available. For further information, call 1-800-Apple-Ln (800-277-5356). Information is available via the web as well.
