Password Policy

In April of 2004, Wheaton introduced a new password policy to mitigate rising security threats. The policy states the following
A new password ....
- must contain at least 8 characters
- must not contain more than 15 characters
- cannot contain special characters (letters and numbers are allowed)
- must contain at least 1 capital letter
- must contain at least 2 numbers
- cannot be a previously used password
- must be reset every 6 months
If you are new to Wheaton you will need to setup your password, to do so, visit the insideWheaton website and select the link on the right labeled set up your account. You will then be asked to enter in your Wheaton w ID (located on the front of your ID card) and verify some information about yourself, then you can select a new password.
To see how many days are left on your existing password, click on the "Password Expiration" link located on the left hand side within the Webmail interface. (Note: You must be logged into Webmail to view this link).
You will start receiving email warnings if you have not changed your password after 170 days. To change your password, visit the Wheaton College Password Management Page.
While you are on the Wheaton College Password Management web page we strongly suggest that you set up a password challenge question in case you forget your password or it expires. To set up a challenge question select the Forgot Password? link located on the right hand side of the Wheaton College Password Management web page.
