Profile: The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) was established in 1963 and is home to 16,000 students. The university has seven faculties which include Arts, Business Administration, Education, Engineering, Medicine, Science, and Social Science. The faculty excel in both teaching and research and counts Nobel Laureates such as Professor Yang Chen Ning (Nobel Laureate in Physics) & Professor Sir James A. Mirrlees (Nobel Laureate in Economics) among its ranks.
Location: CUHK is the largest university in Hong Kong, a city of 7 million people. The campus offers inspiring views of Tolo Harbor with picturesque hills as the backdrop. The city is a wonderful mix of both Western and Chinese cultures. From the many multinational corporations headquartered here to the traditional street markets of Mong Kok and Yau Ma Tei offering cuisine and goods from around the world, Hong Kong is truly a global city. Students will find in Hong Kong an exciting urban experience and a gateway to mainland China and other Asian countries.
Duration: Spring Semester only, Summer Program Available
Program dates:
Spring Semester only (2nd Term): Early January - Late May
Courses & credit: Students enroll in five 3-credit courses for a total of 15 credits. Students earn 4.0 Wheaton credits per semester. Courses are taught in English or Cantonese.

Admission requirements: Students with a minimum GPA of 3.0. No prior Cantonese language background required.
Housing & board: Students share a double or triple occupancy room in one of the on-campus self-catered Residence halls with local students who have expressed special interest in sharing a room with a foreign roommate.
Fees: Wheaton tuition and housing. Expenses covered include tuition and fees, housing, round-trip group flight from Los Angeles, and an ISIC card.
Other Expenses: Students are responsible for an application fee, passport and visa fees, board, round-trip airfare to Los Angeles, supplemental Study Abroad Insurance, a refundable housing deposit, and personal expenses.
