For Students

Wheaton Students
Welcome to the Filene Center for Work and Learning!
As you develop your out-of-class interests, these resources can help you to use the Filene Center more effectively:
Advisors
By meeting with an advisor, you can discuss out-of-class and campus-based learning. Collaborating with one or more advisors, you'll brainstorm and enhance your skills to research, plan, contact, and implement a range of learning opportunities.
To arrange a meeting with an advisor, call the Filene Center at 508-286-8211.
Library
The Filene Center library consists of print and electronic resources that provide you with guides on information about identifying your skills, strengths, and interests; guides on specific areas, such as how a major can connect to a career; and directories of potential or exisiting learning opportunities. Students often check out the Filene Center's library before meeting with an advisor and consult it as interests change and grow.
The Filene Center Library is open Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Technology
The Filene Center has computers for students to access Internet resources and to create cover letters and resumes for prospective out-of-class learning sites and employers.
Additionally, Filene Center staff and student employees are available to assist you as you browse and use print and electronic resources.
