Research Interests
My prior research is on the genetics of cancer in mouse model systems.
Teaching Interests
I am interested in how educational approaches that use active learning can increase students‚ understanding and retention of science concepts. I am also interested in how use of computer-based science animations and other multi-media approaches can appeal to students with different learning styles.
Other Interests
I enjoy introducing elementary-age children to science through different volunteer activities. These include robotics (Lego First League) and Girl Scouts. I also take pleasure in exploring science at home with my kids - from growing crystals to bird-watching to making baking soda volcanoes.
