Research Interests

In past projects I have studied the interaction between the U.S. armed forces and a host city in Germany; the social, cultural and political impact of military bases in Asia, Latin America, Europe and the Middle East; and the role of family members in military society. I am now working on a book on life in the armed forces. I am writing about things like work, recreation, family life, and retirement, and how they got to be the way they are now.
