What is R25?

Now available: New guidelines on use of campus space.

Resource 25, or simply R25, is a campus-wide event and class scheduling system that will be implemented at Wheaton in the fall of 2006. R25 will assist the college community by streamlining the way we schedule events and reserve spaces on campus. It will also foster more efficient use of space and simplify space planning processes across campus.

R25 will provide the Wheaton community with a web-based calendar that captures all campus events in one easily readable format similar to that shown below:

What's next?

The Wheaton R25 implementation team consists of staff from five college departments - Conference and Event Services, the Registrar's Office, the Office of Student Life, Advancement Services, and Information Technology.

The R25 team has developed a set of principles and guidelines pertaining to the use and scheduling of campus facilities. This document, now approved by President's Council, articulates the college's policies and procedures in regard to campus spaces. Download guidelines here (Word doc).

During the summer of 2006, team members collected data about all campus rooms and entered the data into R25's database; Conference and Events Services will begin using the tool internally in the fall.

Stay tuned to the web for more news about training and implementation of R25!
