NIA class
NIA is a personal growth, body-mind-spirit fitness program with a user-friendly approach, done barefoot to music. The highly individualized program utilizes techniques drawn from martial arts, dance, and healing arts like yoga. Based on a principle of fitness through feel-good-movement, it is an excellent way to take the drudgery out of exercising and replace it with a desire to move.
Suzannah Weiss '88 is a Certified Green Belt NIA Instructor and Personal Trainer who holds a Masters Degree in Drama and Theatre Education from New York University and taught middle school acting and movement for seventeen years in the DC Metro area. Her personal journey to create a healthy and fit lifestyle led her to become a fitness professional and her background in theatre and movement drives her training style which led her to NIA.
