The sunny faces of Wheaton graduates brightened a cold, gray morning as the college celebrated its 170th Commencement on May 21, 2005. Commencement speaker Charlayne Hunter-Gault, the awarding-winning forme r correspondent for "The News Hours with Jim Lehrer," urged graduates to safeguard the institutions of freedom and democracy.
