Wheaton's campus abounded with celebrations as we congratulated the Class of 2003 and welcomed alumnae/i back for reunion.
2003 David Levering Lewis delivers keynote address
David Levering Lewis, two-time Pulitzer Prize winner, delivered the keynote address at Wheaton's 168th commencement, urging graduates to help "make history come out the right way." Read a transcript of the address online.
The Fight for Equality and the American Century: 1919 through 1963, is the second and final volume of his Pulitzer prize-winning biography of W.E.B. Du Bois; it covers the second half of Du Bois' life, charting 44 years of the culture and politics of race in the United States.
