busy busy
Yeah I guess you could say that I'm pretty busy. Let me look through my planner to see what's been happening. Well, most time consuming has been all of my classes. I hate looking ahead to see what due dates I have coming up. I will be completely done with schoolwork on May 11th though, which is kind of scary and a whole other story.
A couple weeks ago, Colleges Against Cancer (CAC) sold and delivered daffodils to raise money for The American Cancer Society. The next event like that will be on April 13th, Relay For Life. RFL is an all night walk to raise money for cancer research. Towns and colleges usually host them. I'm really looking forward to it because I've been really involved with the planning since last semester. I'm one of the coordinators for registration and for the website. It's going to be a big event where almost the entire campus gets involved. It's held around the Dimple, which is really fun.
Two weeks ago, I went to a lecture put on by the math department. We hosted a BU professor and he gave an enlightening talk on fractals and chaos theory. We had a fancy dinner after with the professors. The next weekend I went to some other math talks at neighboring Bridgewater State College. Apparently, I don't get enough of the subject in my 3 classes.
Something else I started is a four week class called Beyond the Bubble that is put on by Student Life. It basically takes about 20 seniors and teaches us how to live and work outside of Wheaton. So far we learned about dressing professionally and how to handle ourselves at a business dinner. Next we are working on our interview skills with some actual company representatives. I went out and bought my first suit, kinda crazy.
