Really Excited to Sleep In..

Man, am I excited for Thanksgiving to be here! Not because I have a particular affection for turkey but I can't wait to be back in New Hampshire. I haven't been home since August. I live only about an hour and 15 minutes away, but I haven't had an occasion or free time to make it back.
These past few weeks have been normal and full of work, nothing too eventful. This past Friday night, was the annual Nerds' Night Out with my friends. We started it sophomore year when we got sick of how much work we are all doing, and gave ourselves a night off. It started with just four of us, but it's expanded to quite a big event. This year it was at the BioEthics house and there was a nice turnout. The best part of the night was playing Science Pictionary on a whiteboard. It was the Physical & Mathmatical Sciences against the Biological Sciences/Other. Even though it was imprompto, it still got pretty competitive. We won. I had to draw like Oedipus Complex and Area Under the Curve, which the other group thought of.

Mathy stuff

Friday the Math Club put together a fun activity table in the Science Center. We wanted to make some math puzzles & fun things available to everyone so maybe it could peak their interest in our amazing subject. Some people are scared of math and just shy away from it, but we want everyone to see that it's not only incredibly useful and irreplaceable, but it can be interesting and fun!

Club members each were in charge of an activity like logic problems, Sudoku, & coloring challenges. Sudoku has become so incredibly popular and it seems like all of a sudden since the first time I'd ever done one was the first math club meeting last year. The table was definitely a success, we all had a great time doing the puzzles ourselves and we even gave out candy.

Then during the weekend, I went down to my friend's Cape house. The boys decided it would be fun to do a polar bear swim in the ocean both nights we were there.

Normal November

Friday night, the club field hockey team had a spaghetti dinner to get ready for our last game of the season. The next morning, we drove up to Brandeis and played our game at noon. We ended up losing again but it was a pretty good game. I was really sad at the end because it was my last game of my senior year, and pretty much ever.

That night was the Boston Bash. This was the second year I've gone and it was pretty fun. I think the best part is dressing up and going into Boston.

Monday I registered for my last classes at Wheaton, kind of weird. I really want to just take three classes, because I've pushed myself so much and taken extra classes so many other semesters. I'm signed up for four upper level math classes right now, because I couldn't pick any other 'fun classes.'

Halloween week

Friday night, my best friends from home, Gail & Jordan, trekked down. We had a relaxing night of pizza, Cranium and Billy Madison. Saturday night was Halloween Party Night. Everyone was having a dress-up party and I had to pick just one. I ended up going to Kenny's Coming Home/Halloween Party. It was really fun and I love how into costumes people get. I was a fairy with light pink hair and I made my own wings.

I spent the entire day on Sunday cleaning up after the party and then Sunday night, my friend Hunter came up. Hunter goes to UConn, but I met her while I was studying in Australia. She became close friends with the Wheaton Crew that lived in our dorm. It was fun to have her up here, because we reminisced and then looked through some pictures.

The rest of the week, I just did some homework. I tried to get it all done so I could have some time off to watch a movie on Tuesday. They were playing "Lady in the Water" as a drive-in movie in the Dimple. I didn't end up getting to watch it, but I am hoping I will catch the next time they do that.

Wednesday night, our Feast & Famine class had a dinner talk with someone from Equal Exchange which is a Fair Trade coop in West Bridgewater. She was a Wheaton alum and she had worked her way up in the company. They sell mostly chocolate and coffee that has been grown by people who have been fairly compensated.
