Olson captures high jump title at prestigious Penn Relays; Teamey places third overall in the pole vaultApril 26, 2002 PHILADELPHIA, PA- First-year standout Dan Olson (Voorheesville, NY) continued to shine at the 108th annual Penn Relays Carnival Friday morning, as he captured the high jump championship with a season-best clearance of 7' 1 3/4". He bested the Division-I dominated field as the lone Division III athlete at the University of Pennsylvania's Franklin Field, leading the Wheaton College men's track and field team with an NCAA Division III national meet automatic qualifying jump. Junior Kerry Teamey (Klamath Falls, OR) also fared very well at the prestigious meet on Thursday morning, as she finished third overall in the pole vault with a season-best 11' 8", falling just short of two athletes from Princeton University and North Carolina State University, respectively. She also met an NCAA Division III national meet automatic qualifying standard. Wheaton's relay teams turned in solid performances at the meet, inlcuding the men's 4x100-meter foursome and both the men's and women's 4x400-meter relay squads. The women's 4x400-meter relay recorded a provisional qualifying time of 3:54.05 and seventh-place finish in their respective heat, while the men nearly missed a provisional mark in their race with a time of 3:18.91, a finish good enough for sixth place overall. The men's 4x100M relay team placed ninth in 43.39 seconds.
